ABOUT TWIN GULLIES

Nestled in five acres of gardens, paddocks, and woodland. Twin Gullies offers relaxation for the body and soul. With its spectacular views of Akaroa Harbour and Onawe Peninsula, you will feel like you have been transported to paradise.

This charming 1880's colonial style building, complete with stables and barn; was once the home of the local milkman known as 'One-Bottle-Billy'. Now fully restored, this magnificent home has become a wonderful retreat for anyone wishing to recharge. The warm and friendly service provided will make you feel right at home. Twin Gullies offers the perfect setting for romance, rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation.

Twin Gullies sits at the top of Akaroa Harbour on State Highway 75. Close by are the Barrys Bay Cheese Factory and French Farm Winery. The Akaroa golf course is a mere 2 minutes away. Great walking tracks are abundant and further up the harbour, good swimming beaches are to be found.  In popular Akaroa (a 12 minutes drive along the harbour) there is plenty to see and do, both on land and on the water.

YOUR HOSTS

Having visited Twin Gullies in January 2021 we immediately fell in love with its 1880's character, incredible views, and the unique stand-alone private accommodation we can offer to our guests.  Jane and Richard Ray had developed Twin Gullies into what it is today and we feel privileged and excited to continue their work.

We love meeting new and interesting people. Having traveled extensively throughout Europe, North Africa, Middle East, Far East, South East Asia, and North America, we imagine hearing and sharing many stories and experiences. Charles is a keen tramper and mountaineer and would be thrilled to share his knowledge of the beautiful South Island.

We look forward to welcoming you to our piece of paradise.

Viv, Charles and Asher
